As we are now into the springtime, where the air is warming and the sunshine is out, it is important to encourage our residents to get involved in fun, stimulating outdoor activities that boost overall wellbeing and happiness.
There are many neurological and physical benefits of fun, active exercise. Below, we have listed the top neurological benefits:
- Decreased stress levels
- Decreased social anxiety levels
- Improved processing of emotions
- Prevention of worsening neurological conditions
- Improved mental health and wellbeing
- Increased energy, focus and attention
- Hindrance to the ageing process.
- Improved memory
At Uplands Rehabilitation Centre (URC), we believe that allowing our residents to enjoy the activities that bring them joy is an important aspect of overall recovery with us.
We try our very best to introduce our residents to new activities, which not only stimulate but are also fun and impactful. Our specialists have devised a unique list of activities which lift the mood of residents and staff alike!
Exercise and rehabilitation do not need to be boring. We take pride in making all our activities vibrant, colourful, and most importantly, enjoyable for the residents involved.
Most recently, some of our staff and residents took a trip over to the Southend seafront for some golfing activities.
One resident, LC, enjoys golf and sport immensely, so the team at URC planned a trip to the local crazy golf course to allow the resident to get involved in some physical activity.
At URC, we ensure that all our residents are able to get out and about and are able to have the opportunities to take part in activities of their choosing.
Every resident with a neurological disorder is affected differently and therefore, the neurological physical therapy we provide is tailored to the resident’s needs to help improve their overall health.
